HKICT Awards: Prestigious Recognition

Hong Kong has long been Asia’s financial hub, and since its establishment in 2006, the HKICT Awards has been regarded as one of the most credible annual awards in Hong Kong’s technology sector. This annual event is organised by the Digital Policy Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with strong support from eight organising bodies, the Steering Committee, the Standards Assurance Sub-committee, the Grand Judging Panel, the Promotion & Marketing Sub-committee, as well as various judging and supporting organisations and industry groups.

The Awards comprise eight categories: Digital Entertainment Award, ICT Startup Award, Smart Business Award, Smart Living Award, Smart Mobility Award, Smart People Award, Student Innovation Award, and FinTech Award. The programme aims to recognise and promote enterprises and projects that have achieved outstanding accomplishments in the information and communications technology sector, while fostering continuous innovation across Hong Kong’s industry.

The FinTech Award is organised by the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (IFTA), the only CFT-certified institution in Asia. Its mission is to enhance risk management capabilities across the banking, investment, insurance, and digital asset sectors through emerging technologies and compliance-driven solutions.

The FinTech Award consists of three categories:

  1. Emerging Solutions (Virtual Assets, Payments, Blockchain, and AI Applications)
  2. FinTech (Banking, Investment, and Insurance)
  3. RegTech (Regulatory and Risk Management)

Historically, the Gold Award in the RegTech: Regulatory and Risk Management category has reflected exceptionally rigorous standards. In 2023, no Gold Award was presented, and only two companies received Silver Awards. Meanwhile, MistTrack is the first blockchain-related solution ever recognised in this RegTech category. This historical context makes MistTrack’s FinTech Gold Award this year even more notable — highlighting its outstanding merit and strong professional recognition.

Why Was MistTrack Awarded the FinTech Gold Award?

Over the past two years, Hong Kong has continued to advance the development of its Web3 and virtual asset ecosystem. One of the emerging trends is making “risks visible, funds traceable, and compliance enforceable.” As licensing regimes and regulatory frameworks gradually take shape, institutions, service providers, and project teams are seeing a rapidly growing need for on-chain risk identification and AML/KYT tools. Against this backdrop, RegTech solutions that help organisations and individuals understand on-chain risks and behavioural patterns have become increasingly essential.

MistTrack’s receipt of the FinTech Gold Award is largely attributed to its maturity in real-world compliance, risk control, and investigative scenarios — capabilities supported by several core modules:

AML Risk Scoring

MistTrack calculates the AML Risk Score of an address based on three factors: the entity associated with the address, its historical transaction activities, and SlowMist’s malicious wallet address database.

Leveraging datasets from the SlowMist malicious address library, MistTrack also tags addresses involved in confirmed ransomware, theft, phishing, and other illicit activities.

With these capabilities, you can analyse the risk of any wallet address like a professional compliance officer and determine whether the address is associated with illicit funds. With a single click on “Risk Report,” you can instantly obtain a full risk-analysis report for that address.

Address Labels

MistTrack not only identifies the entity an address belongs to — such as Coinbase or Binance — but can also detect various on-chain and off-chain labels, including ENS, MEV bots, DeFi whales, and more. It can even recognise the specific wallet apps used by the address, such as imToken or MetaMask. With MistTrack’s Address Labels feature, you can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the background information of the address.

Counterparty Analysis / Transaction Actions Analysis

MistTrack provides users with the information that matters most. Unlike standard blockchain explorers — often complex and not intuitive — MistTrack evaluates all historical transactions of an address and summarises its behaviour in an easy-to-understand format, helping users gain clearer insights.

In addition, the Address Trace Analysis module aggregates all historical data of a target address and presents it in an intuitive way. It summarises key traces across three dimensions: platforms used, related events, and associated information, enabling users to build a comprehensive profile of the target address.

Favorites / Monitorings

Users can take advantage of MistTrack’s Favorites and Monitoring features to bookmark specific wallet addresses and collect the information they need. All data is private and accessible only to you. You can also add addresses of whales and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to gain a full view of their on-chain activities, track their latest transactions in real time, and stay informed about their investment moves.

Investigations

MistTrack presents all inbound and outbound transactional relationships of a queried address through dynamic visualisation. You can directly filter and sort the data within the graph, making it easy to monitor selected information. Without worrying about the complexity of case investigations, MistTrack enables you to freely trace, analyse, and document information. You can also collaborate with colleagues on cases through its sharing feature.

OpenAPI

To provide more convenient address analysis, we have developed the MistTrack OpenAPI for developers to integrate into their applications. Paid users can create up to two API keys, each allowing 10,000 calls per day (standard plan). By calling the OpenAPI, MistTrack returns a given address’s label list, address overview, risk score, detailed risk information, transaction investigation results, transaction behaviour analysis results, address trace analysis results, and counterparty analysis results. STR Snapshot

The STR (Suspicious Transaction Report) Snapshot is a centralized feature within the MistTrack platform designed for the unified management of KYT and KYA risk reports.

Built on the historical results of Risk Score API calls, this feature consolidates and displays all generated risk reports in a structured dashboard. It provides an overview of the total number of STRs, recent risk distribution, and detailed report records. Users can search STR records by address, transaction ID, or risk level, and directly open individual risk reports for review.

The STR Snapshot enables compliance teams to efficiently trace historical risk assessments of suspicious transactions, maintain clear and auditable KYT/KYA analysis records, and support ongoing compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting requirements.

AML Screening

The AML Screening feature allows your project to implement AML functionality without writing any code, supporting automated AML analysis for both contracts and EOAs. MistTrack performs Know Your Transaction (KYT) analysis in real time for every transaction of monitored addresses, which includes Know Your Address (KYA) analysis for the transaction counterparties. For transactions that meet risk criteria, MistTrack sends email alerts. In addition, each KYT analysis result is stored and displayed on the Risk Score overview page.

Risk Analytics

This module displays real-time KYT analysis records from the AML Screening feature as well as the call history of the OpenAPI Risk Score interface, providing insights into the overall risk landscape of your operations. It offers a comprehensive view of transaction scanning on specified blockchains, analysing and recording every transaction linked to user-monitored addresses, and indicating the risk level of each transaction.

Looking Ahead

Over the past year, MistTrack’s engagement within the Hong Kong ecosystem has steadily increased. In September this year, MistTrack was successfully selected for Hong Kong Cyberport’s “Blockchain & Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme,” further promoting its implementation in RegTech scenarios. Receiving the HKICT Awards FinTech Gold Award also signifies enhanced recognition of MistTrack within Hong Kong’s local RegTech ecosystem. For us, this is both an encouragement and a new responsibility. Consequently, we are extending MistTrack’s capabilities to more scenarios, including an AML system focused on stablecoins (expected to launch soon). Through this system, we aim to provide large professional institutions in the industry with a more granular, real-time, and configurable risk identification engine, especially in the context of increasingly frequent cross-chain stablecoin flows and more complex risk structures.

Since its launch in 2022, MistTrack has served over 100,000 users, supporting 18 public blockchains and accumulating more than 400 million address labels, over 1,000 entities, 500,000+ threat intelligence records, and 90 million+ risk addresses, providing strong support for on-chain security and anti-money laundering efforts. In Q2 2025, MistTrack assisted in 11 theft cases, successfully freezing/recovering approximately USD 11.95 million, and its investigation results have been adopted by institutions such as the UN Security Council, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, promoting international AML collaboration.

In addition, MistTrack has passed review by the internationally accredited authority DNV and obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System certification (dual recognition by CNAS & UKAS), further ensuring the platform’s security and reliability. MistTrack has identified countless on-chain risks for global users and provided stable, practical compliance support across multiple industries.
